Ven. Thalangalle Ratana Thero is a distinguished Buddhist monk with a profound commitment to his spiritual path. Ordained in 1998 in Sri Lanka, he embarked on a journey of spiritual exploration and academic growth that has left a lasting impact on those he encounters.

His spiritual journey began in 1998, and over the years, his dedication led to his higher ordination in 2007, marking a significant milestone. Guided by his revered teacher, Rev. Nahalle Naradha Thero, Ven. Ratana Thero deepened his understanding of Buddhism, meditation practices, and the principles of compassion and loving-kindness.

Beyond his spiritual pursuits, Ven. Ratana Thero pursued academic excellence. In 2010, he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Arts from the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka, demonstrating his commitment to both spiritual and intellectual growth. He furthered his education at the University of Colombo School of Computing, obtaining a Master of Information Technology in 2014.

In 2019, Ven. Thalangalle Ratana Thero’s journey took an exciting turn as he was appointed Chief Abbot of the Siri Dharmasiri Buddhist Vihara of Toowoomba. This prestigious role reflects his spiritual depth and his ability to lead and inspire others on their own paths to enlightenment.
